Some families notice changes slowly: a messy kitchen, missed phone calls or a husband who seems tired after every errand. Others face a sudden need after an illness. Either way, help can begin with a conversation.
We ask what a normal day looks like, where support would help most and what the client wants to handle independently. Those answers shape a care plan that honors privacy, personal choices and long-held daily routines.
Families in Desert Hot Springs can ask about a few hours of help with errands, regular visits for companionship or extra help while a spouse or child takes time away.
Our caregivers provide hands-on help with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and approved mobility tasks. We aim to support safety and everyday comfort while respecting the client's privacy and independence.
Many clients enjoy having someone to talk with or share favorite pastimes with. Companion visits are built around personality, interests and the pace the client prefers.
Caregivers can plan simple meals, cook, clear the kitchen, tidy living areas and help with laundry. Medication reminders within the care plan and help with phones or tablets are also possible.
Errands can include shopping, appointments and approved outings. Transportation depends on the arrangements we agree on and the level of help the client requires.
Family caregivers need rest too, and respite care offers a break. After a hospital stay, non-medical support can help with meals, routines and household tasks as the client settles back home.
Some clients need a few hours, while others need help overnight or throughout the day. We can discuss hourly, overnight, 24-hour and live-in care. Each option has its own staffing and rest arrangements, and availability depends on caregiver schedules.
Even close, attentive families can miss gradual changes. Because caregivers see the client’s routines firsthand during regular visits, they can notice differences in energy, appetite, movement or mood and share those observations so relatives are not left guessing about daily life. Updates reach the family through the agreed plan. Relatives can then decide whether to share concerns with the client’s doctor or other provider.
We notice when meals are skipped, kitchen tasks become more difficult or favorite foods go untouched.
We pay attention to steadiness, dressing, getting up from a chair and moving between rooms.
We note any changes in conversation, interest, confusion or daily habits
When memory loss enters the picture, everyday tasks may need more guidance. Our non-medical support offers companionship, help with personal care, gentle reminders and a calm approach to routines.
We want to know what matters to the person: favorite music, work history, family names, mealtime habits and how they respond best. These details guide caregiver matching.
Brad Grubaugh, Chris Breneman and Diane Robertson are Certified Dementia Practitioners. Their training and experience shape our approach to care planning and caregiver matching.
Call Brad Grubaugh and our California team to ask questions, share concerns or discuss changes to the care plan.
We consider approved tasks, needed skills, schedule and temperament before recommending a caregiver for each client.
The plan reflects the client's habits and preferences, so support fits into the day instead of taking it over.
Caregivers share meaningful daily observations, helping relatives feel informed between their phone calls and visits.
Everyday living support, not medical treatment.
1. Reach Out With Your Concerns
Call our California team and explain what is hard. Share who needs help, which tasks matter most and when to begin.
2. Review the Care Plan
We talk through routines, an in-home consultation and the tasks, hours and costs involved. If the client agrees, relatives can join and help shape the plan.
3. Begin With a Matched Caregiver
We weigh skills, experience, personality and availability to find a good match. After care begins, we stay involved and can revise the plan as needs evolve.
