Care should help people feel safe, respected and at ease in their own homes. Ease in the Home provides personal, non-medical home care in Barrington and Northwest Chicagoland, Illinois, as well as Bonsall and North San Diego County, California.
We take time to learn about each client, their daily routine and the kind of help they need. We then build a care plan around the person, not a standard package.
No two people need care in the same way. One client may need a few hours of companionship and help with meals. Another may need daily personal care, safe movement and support with household tasks. Some families may need live-in care or extra help for a loved one living with dementia.
We begin by listening. We learn about the client’s needs, personality, interests, home and daily routine. This helps us suggest the right level of support and find a caregiver who may be a good fit.
Our goal is to help each client remain at home while keeping as much choice and independence as possible.
Ease in the Home was founded in 2017 by Chris Breneman. The idea grew from Chris’s experience with his mother’s Alzheimer’s journey and memory care. Like many families, he saw how hard it can be to understand changing care needs and make the right choices. He also saw how much the right caregiver can affect a person’s comfort and quality of life. Chris created Ease in the Home to give families a more personal choice. He wanted care to feel less like a large system and more like a trusted local relationship. That purpose still guides the company today.
Ease in the Home serves families in Illinois and California. Each market has its own local leadership and contact team.
Chris founded Ease in the Home after going through his mother’s Alzheimer’s and memory-care journey. That experience shaped his view of care. He believes families need honest guidance, kind caregivers and leaders who stay involved.
Chris is a Certified Dementia Practitioner, CDP #252621. His personal and professional knowledge helps guide the company’s approach to dementia support.
Brad leads Ease in the Home in North San Diego County. He works with clients and families to understand their needs and build a care plan that fits their home and daily life.
As a Certified Dementia Practitioner, Brad also understands the need for patience, routine and clear communication when supporting someone with memory loss.
Diane supports the caregivers and CNAs who serve our clients. Her work helps the company manage caregiver needs, staffing and care assignments. She also helps support the relationship between the caregiver, client and family.
Diane is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and brings this added knowledge to her work with the care team.
The person providing care can make a major difference in a client’s day. Our care team includes professional caregivers and Certified Nursing Assistants. The right type of worker depends on the client’s needs and the tasks involved.
Caregivers may help with companionship, personal routines, meals, errands, light housekeeping, laundry, movement and medication reminders. CNAs have completed additional training and testing. They may be a good fit for clients who need more help with personal care, safe movement and activities of daily living.
Our services are non-medical. Our caregivers and CNAs do not replace doctors, nurses or other medical providers. We consider training and experience when choosing a caregiver. We also look at personality, communication style and how comfortable the client may feel with the person.
A strong match is about more than filling an open shift.
Supporting someone with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia takes patience and understanding. Dementia may affect memory, mood, behavior and communication. Familiar routines and a calm approach can help a person feel safer and less confused.
Ease in the Home’s leadership includes three Certified Dementia Practitioners. This knowledge helps guide the way we plan care and choose caregivers for clients living with memory loss.
Our caregivers do not diagnose or treat dementia. They provide non-medical support that may help the client continue daily routines in a familiar home.
You may be planning, dealing with a recent change or trying to understand whether home care is the right choice.
We are here to listen. Our team will learn about your situation, explain the available options and help you decide what kind of support may be the best fit.
Ease in the Home provides compassionate, personalized in-home care to help seniors and adults live safely, comfortably, and independently.
